Nordic collaboration projects

HIP-TEK contribution to NorduGrid project started with middleware development collaboration in the area of Grid portals, and continued in grid cluster development and operation. In the early days NorduGrid initiative was funded by the collaborating partners alone, but since then HIP-TEK researchers have taken part in NorduNet3 program's NGin project and EU-Commission FP6 funded KnowARC project that contribute directly to this initiative.
NGin develops innovative tools and services for the NorduGrid ARC middleware by funding the work of 5 Ph.D students altogether. KnowARC EU-project consortium builds the new generation ARC middleware architecture that rests on Web Services and Open Grid Forum's (OGF) Grid Interoperability Now (GIN) compliance.
